如果就是害怕講英文，真的覺得自己英文很差很想逃，那麼退而求其次，可以只收中文口語程度好的學生，像是很多海外華僑的口語能力都相當好，他們在家裡說中文，在學校說英文（或是當地語言），但是認不得幾個中文字，所以需要上中文課，面對這樣的學生，上課時就能夠全中文上課，用中文解釋中文，完全不需要英文。
